MO / MON / PON, 12-SEP-2016

Vormittag / morning / dopoldne:

  • “Power structures within affinity groups/future cooking groups”
In our political struggles many of us focus on fighting/deconstructing power structures such as racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia and many others. Not only do these power structures stratify mainstream society, and the access of individuals to resources like education, media, political participation, knowledge production, income,… They manifest themselves in our very “private” lifes. Visibilizing and naming this is essential when it comes to consensual decision taking and horizontal organizing in affinity groups, such as the future cooking collectives. That is why in this workshop we want to reflect on our own positionalities within society, possible imbalances of power in our affinity groups and how to deal with them in practice.

DI / TUE / TOR, 13-SEP-2016

Vormittag / morning / dopoldne:

  • “Decentral Projects and transnational networks: A future model for the Mobile Kitchen (?)” (1,5h)
A phenomenon like migration for refuge is a cross-border thing. Alongside locally-based support initiatives, transnational organising and information exchange is also needed. Certain ways of support are even transnational by their very idea: such as our mobile kitchen. In this workshop we want to develop ideas build a foundation of how this project can be decentrally rooted in various places, so that the actual kitchen (= van + tents + pots + food) can be constantly supplied with donations (mostly: for new food) but also with frequently changing volunteers, so that it does not happen that only a few individuals have to do everything and run out of (physical and emotional) power after a short while.
  • Borders and Animals (1,5)
What about pets travelling with refugees? How do (new) border fortifications affect wildlife?

Nachmittag / afternoon / popoldne:

  • Mobile Kitchen Project: Working on the different parts of it
Be it the cooking section, the eating tent, the light installations or the actual cooking equipment: You can work on any of the different parts that will grow together in the end!

MI / WED / SRE, 14-SEP-2016

Vormittag / morning / dopoldne:

  • Mobile Kitchen Project: Routes and Spots for Winter 2016/17 (1,5h)
After almost two weeks of sharing and learning about the situation of refugees in ‘Europe’ (and at its borders) and setting up the physical part of a mobile kitchen, we will ask ourselves where this kitchen could me most needed once the weather gets worse again this autumn. We will make plans, research about places and possible support networks in the areas that we can dock-on to.
  • Presentation of experiences and discussion (1,5h)
Individual reasons for escaping from one’s home. Conditions of refugees in different places of arrival transit.

Nachmittag / afternoon / popoldne:

Abend / evening / večer:

  • Discussion “Beyond voluntourism and holidarity. Reflecting on our positions in supporting people on the move along the balkan route”
The reflection paper (“beyond voluntourism and holidarity”) questions the positions of white activists in supporting people on the move. Let us discuss how we “perform”, what is the consequences of our acting in the local context, what pictures and ideas do we evoke or transmit and what is the responsbility we want to take?

DO / THU / ČTR, 15-SEP-2016

Vormittag / morning / dopoldne:

  • “Financing projects and Fundraising” (example: Mobile Kitchen Project) (1,5h)
In this workshop we will learn and share about general techniques and opportunities concerning fundraising and project financing. Of course we will incorporate all concrete ideas into a first plan about how to sustainably finance our mobile kitchen project.
  • Veganism as a political movement (1,5h)

Nachmittag / afternoon / popoldne:

  • Mobile Kitchen Project: Packing Procedure / 3-D kitchen tetris
After having built equipment for two weeks, we will test today whether everything can be folded together well enough and whether it all fits into the van as we planned it. Sounds a bit like 3-D tetris! But not enough with that: Of course we’ll build it all up once again in order to learn the steps and write a how-to-set-up manual for the future kitchen collective!

Abend / evening / večer:

  • Farewell get-together

FR / FRI / PET, 16-SEP-2016

Vormittag / morning / dopoldne:
